The 2016 Dry Creek Valley Syrah. This wine is an extremely dark color with a rich purple undertone, think full moon sky. The aromas lend themselves to blackberry pie, toasted pine nut, cinnamon / holiday spices. On the front palate there is strong black fruit, licorice, clack currant, light pomegranate, intense spices (anise). The texture of this wine is intriguingly mysterious, complex and delightful. There is an incredible integration of tannin and balancing acidity. Upon finish the wine is relatable to an elephant in a graceful run, long, linear and powerful.
